Our Story

I’m Karim El Masry. Masry Gems carries my name – and every stone that leaves the house has passed through my hands.

I learned this craft where the stones come from: in Europe, the Middle East and the old gemstone centres of Asia. Not in trading houses, but from people who have worked with these stones for generations. How to judge colour in daylight. How to spot a treatment. That eye can’t be bought – you only get it by holding thousands of stones.

It started with a gift. I was looking for a piece that exists only once. What I found carried the price of luxury but not the value. So I made it myself.

Today every stone we offer is hand-selected. We buy on site and cut in our own workshop – if a client wants a specific shape or play of light, we take the rough stone and cut it exactly to that.

Some of our stones have been worn before. We buy old rings, release the stones and give them a second life in a new design. We work with natural stones as well as lab-grown diamonds, and explain the difference honestly. Every piece is made individually: one stone, one design, one owner.
